Not a lot of people were allowed to watch him work out, but I happened to know his agent and got an interview with him at a hotel. I walked in the hotel and met with him, and the guy knew more about me than I knew about myself. I knew right then this was a young guy who had an incredible respect for the game and was going to be an incredible player. He’s become a terrific leader. I don’t know if there’s anybody in the NBA who loves to play more than he does, or loves to compete more than he does.”
